1. Your agreement
MRC Digital designs websites and provides optional website care. Sending an enquiry does not place an order. Before work starts, we agree the scope, timing, total charges and applicable terms with you in writing.
Your project agreement identifies the client and supplier and records any agreed variation to these terms. An expressly agreed variation takes priority for that project, without limiting rights that cannot be excluded. We will provide the agreement for you to keep and confirm acceptance before requesting your deposit.

Our advertised service is designed for business websites. If you are buying wholly or mainly for personal purposes, tell us before agreeing a project so we can provide the applicable consumer information. Any consumer rights that apply are preserved.
2. Website package
The standard £399 build includes:
- Up to five pages, agreed at the start.
- One design direction and two rounds of revisions.
- A mobile-friendly layout, enquiry form and contact links.
- Basic search set-up, launch checks and handover.
- Fourteen days of fault fixes after launch.
The written scope lists the actual pages and features. Extra pages, shops, booking systems, integrations, additional design directions and work beyond that scope are quoted separately. We agree the additional price and any effect on timing before carrying out extra work.
Basic search set-up covers page titles, descriptions and a clear heading structure for the agreed pages. It does not include ongoing SEO work or guarantee search rankings, visitor numbers or enquiries.
3. Price & payment
The standard build fee is £399: a £199.50 deposit after the project is agreed, with the remaining £199.50 due on approval, before launch or handover.
Domain registration, hosting and paid tools are separate. Their costs are agreed upfront; you own those provider accounts and pay the providers directly. We will not sign you up to a paid extra without your agreement.
Invoices and the project agreement state the amount due and how to pay. If an agreed payment is overdue, we will contact you before pausing work and explain any effect on the schedule.
MRC Digital is not VAT-registered. No VAT is charged on our build or care fees.
4. Content & revisions
You provide the business information, text, images, branding and account access agreed in the brief. You are responsible for having permission to use the materials you supply and for checking that business claims, prices and contact details are accurate.
Each revision round is one grouped set of feedback on the agreed design. Fixing an error in our work does not use up a revision round. A new brief or design direction is additional work and needs a separate quote.
We agree a working timetable after the brief is clear. If content, access or feedback is delayed, we will discuss a revised schedule with you. Silence does not count as approval.
5. Launch & support
You review the site and approve it before launch. We complete the agreed launch checks and arrange handover once the balance has been paid. Any account, platform or licence limitations affecting handover should be identified in the project agreement.
For 14 days after launch, we fix faults in the agreed build without an additional charge. New content, features and changes to the approved design are outside that fault-fix service. Updates to existing pages can be handled under an active care plan within its allowance; other changes need a separate quote.
The 14-day aftercare period is an additional service; it does not remove any rights or remedies you otherwise have for defective work.
6. Ownership & accounts
You keep ownership of the materials you supply. You allow us to use them to carry out the agreed project.
After full payment, you receive the agreed website deliverables and a continuing licence, included in the build fee, to use and modify the parts we create specifically for your project, subject to the third-party licences below. That right does not depend on taking monthly care. Any assignment of copyright must be recorded in the written project agreement.
Existing tools, reusable components, fonts, stock images, open-source software and platform features remain subject to their own licences. We will identify relevant ongoing costs or restrictions before you commit to them. Third-party rights cannot be transferred beyond what their licences allow.
Your domain and hosting accounts remain yours. Permission to feature your business or completed website in our portfolio will be requested separately.
7. Monthly care
Website care is optional and costs £39 per month. It includes up to 60 minutes of updates to existing pages, plus form and link checks each month. Domain and hosting charges are excluded.
We agree the start date and monthly billing date before the plan begins. Care is billed monthly in advance, with no minimum term beyond the current paid month. You can cancel by emailing us before the next billing date; care continues until the end of the paid month.
The update allowance is for each monthly period and does not roll over. We will agree priorities if requests exceed it and quote separately before doing extra work. New pages, major redesigns and new functionality are outside the plan. Monthly care is not a 24-hour monitoring or emergency-response service.
8. Cancelling a project
If you need to cancel, email contact@mrcdigital.co.uk as soon as possible. Subject to any statutory cancellation rights below, we account fairly for work already completed and unavoidable third-party costs we incurred with your prior approval, provide a breakdown and return any remaining advance payment. The project agreement will explain how completed work is valued before you commit. A deposit is not automatically non-refundable.
If we cannot complete the project, we will explain promptly, account for any usable work you agree to keep and refund payments for work not provided. Any further legal rights remain available.
If you are a consumer
A consumer entering a qualifying distance service contract normally has 14 days from the day after the contract is agreed to cancel without giving a reason. You can cancel by sending a clear statement, including by email. The required cancellation information and model form will be supplied before the contract is made.
We will only start during that cancellation period at your express request. If you then cancel, a proportionate charge for work performed can apply only where the legal conditions are met. The cancellation right is lost after full performance only with the required prior express consent and acknowledgement. Describing a website as bespoke does not itself remove these rights.
Where a statutory cancellation refund is due, it will be made within the applicable legal deadline, normally 14 days after cancellation is received. These terms do not limit rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Responsibility & complaints
We will carry out the agreed work with reasonable care and skill. Third-party services may change or suffer outages, and we cannot promise uninterrupted availability or a particular business result. This does not excuse a failure to carry out our own agreed work properly.
Nothing in these terms excludes responsibility for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that the law does not allow to be excluded.
If something is wrong, contact contact@mrcdigital.co.uk with the project details and the resolution you are seeking. We will investigate and discuss a fair resolution with you.
Personal information is covered by our privacy & cookies notice. Changes to these terms apply to future agreements; they do not change an existing agreed project without your agreement.
